In search engine optimization, “off page” factors have become more and more important as they relate to rankings. Why? Because the engines don’t want “artificially created” (or useless) links, so there are no easy ways to build link popularity. When looking through this list, you may find strategies that are subject to abuse. Which is similar to one way link building. So, always keep that statement in mind when you consider linking or any other strategies for your Web site.
Basically you email or contact the Webmaster of a site that is complementary but generally not competitive to your own. Hence, links from these pages are more important — and important for the terms you are interested in — than links from other pages. If they don’t respond to your solicitation, at most send ONE second request. This is also just like one way link building trial. Search the sites of the people who have linked to you for other possible link partners.
If someone says they can not or do not wish to link to your site, I would still ask their permission to link to them. Your homepage is not the only part of your site that you can get links for. Once you are listed, it’s good to have a page on your site that you use to feed the spiders: a “Where we can be found on the Web” page. Also don’t request links on a public bulletin board.
Link quality simply means how well positioned are the pages that link to you. Work on building rapport with other Webmasters. And you get great content. If you’re asking someone for a testimonial, tell the Webmaster to whom you’re writing that you’re willing to put a link to their site under their testimonial if they’re willing to reciprocate.
Contact editors and writers and let them know you are available to be used as a source in exchange for a link and always push for the bio. Sometimes this can be similar to unusual link building to many people. Example: an icon that generates the HTML code they can copy and insert into their own HTML pages.
